The EC value indicates how much nutrient salt is dissolved in the water. That is the simplest way to check whether you are feeding too weakly, correctly or too strongly.

The comparison is what counts

What matters is not the single value but the difference: measure the nutrient solution before watering and afterwards the runoff water from the DrainMaster.

• Runoff higher than the feed: salt is building up in the substrate
• Runoff considerably lower: the plants are consuming more than you supply
• Values close together: the feeding matches the demand
