Measure the drain instead of guessing

The most meaningful value is in the runoff water: measure the runoff that the DrainMaster collects and compare it with what you poured in. If the EC value in the runoff rises, salt is building up in the substrate. If it falls, the plants are taking up more than you are supplying.

Every electrode drifts over time, which is why calibration solutions are essential; an electrode stored dry is unusable after a few weeks.
